Texans vs Jets Game Analysis
The Jets’ offense managed only 79 yards in the first half, with one drive accounting for 68 of those yards. This promising advance appeared to end in a touchdown, but a closer review revealed rookie wide receiver Malachi Corley fumbled before crossing the goal line, with the ball rolling out of the end zone, resulting in a touchback for Houston.
With 3:21 left in the second quarter, Texans’ running back Joe Mixon sprinted three yards to score the first half’s only touchdown.
The Jets turned up the intensity in the second half, scoring touchdowns on three consecutive drives. Aaron Rodgers connected with Garrett Wilson on a 21-yard pass to tie the game at 7-7. Houston responded with a field goal, but Rodgers once again found Wilson in the end zone on the next drive.
In the final minute, Texans kicker Kaʻimi Fairbairn’s 29-yard field goal brought the game to a close.
New York’s strong second-half performance helped them break a five-game losing streak, as they defeated the Texans 21-13 on “Thursday Night Football.”
Houston (6-3) started the season with a 5-1 record but has now dropped two of their last three games. Next week, they’ll host the NFC-leading Detroit Lions (6-1) back home.
