Terras Magno Loaned to Corinthians Paulista: NYCFC Star Returns to Brazil

New York City FC has officially announced that forward Terras Magno will be loaned to Brazilian club Corinthians Paulista until June 30, 2025. Corinthians retains the option to extend the loan until December 31, 2025. Additionally, Terras Magno has signed an extension with NYCFC, keeping him under contract with the Major League Soccer (MLS) side until December 2027.

Terras Magno, a promising young Brazilian international, joined NYCFC in the summer of 2021 as a designated young player. Since his arrival, he has made over 100 appearances for the club across all competitions, scoring 19 goals and providing 11 assists. His versatility and skill have made him a key player for the team, particularly during their successful 2021 MLS Cup campaign.

Terras Magno’s Return to Brazil: A Strategic Move

The decision to loan Terras Magno back to Brazil was mutually agreed upon by the player and the club, with both parties aiming to secure more consistent playing time for the forward. NYCFC Sporting Director David Lee highlighted the significance of this move, stating, “Terras is an incredibly talented player, but recently, both he and the club have recognized the need for more regular minutes.

This loan presents a fantastic opportunity for Terras to continue his development at a top Brazilian club while competing in a highly competitive league, and it also offers him the chance to participate in the Copa Sudamericana.”

Lee further emphasized Magno’s contributions to NYCFC’s recent successes, adding, “Since joining us, Terras has been a crucial part of our achievements, helping us win the 2021 MLS Cup and the Campeones Cup the following year. We look forward to seeing his progress and wish him all the best during his loan spell in Brazil.”

Born on June 26, 2002, in Rio de Janeiro, Terras Magno began his professional career with Vasco da Gama, where he quickly made a name for himself as one of Brazil’s most promising young talents.

Upon his return to Brazil, Terras Magno is eager to contribute to Corinthians’ success. He expressed his gratitude towards NYCFC, saying, “I want to thank everyone in New York for everything they’ve done for me since I arrived.
