Aggie Alumni Set to Shine at 2024 U.S. Open: Rinderknech, Krajicek, and Withrow Ready for Action

As the 2024 U.S. Open kicks off at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York, Texas A&M University will be well represented on the courts. Three former Aggie tennis stars—Arthur Rinderknech, Austin Krajicek, and Jackson Withrow—are set to compete in the prestigious tournament, showcasing their skills on one of the sport’s biggest stages.

Arthur Rinderknech will be competing in both singles and doubles events. The former Aggie standout faces a challenging first-round singles matchup against rising American star Christopher Eubanks on Monday at 1:15 p.m. Rinderknech, who has steadily climbed the ATP rankings, will look to make a deep run in the singles draw. In doubles, Rinderknech teams up with Adrian Mannarino, and the duo will open their campaign against the formidable pairing of Thiago Monteiro and Mariano Navone.

Meanwhile, Austin Krajicek and Jackson Withrow, both seasoned doubles specialists, are seeded in the doubles draw with their respective partners. Krajicek, who has enjoyed success on the ATP Tour and recently won a title at the 2023 Roland Garros, will partner with Jean-Julien Rojer as the No. 15 seed. They will face the German duo of Constantin Franzen and Hendrik Jebens in their first-round match, scheduled for Wednesday or Thursday.

Withrow, fresh off his second consecutive doubles title at the Winston-Salem Open, will team up with Nathaniel Lammons as the No. 13 seed. The American pair has been in excellent form, and they will take on compatriots Mitchell Krueger and Reese Stalder in their opening match. Withrow’s recent success on the tour, coupled with his strong partnership with Lammons, positions them as a team to watch in the doubles competition.

In addition to the trio of Aggie alumni, Texas A&M signee Theo Papamalamis will be competing in the U.S. Open Juniors event, where he is seeded No. 9. The young talent will be looking to make his mark on the junior circuit and continue the proud tradition of Aggie tennis excellence.

As these former Aggies take to the courts at Flushing Meadows, Texas A&M fans will be eagerly watching and cheering them on. With a mix of experience and recent successes, Rinderknech, Krajicek, and Withrow are poised to make an impact at the U.S. Open and continue their impressive careers on the global tennis stage.
